Already today, when we talk about the future of mobility, we often talk about the future of cities, because the future of this region is cities. Some 2.1 billion people are already living in cities in Asia Pacific - half of the region’s population - and by 2050, two out of three people will live in cities. This makes sense as urbanization is a sign of a vibrant and growing economy. However, urbanization comes with its challenges such as congestion, with people in cities in ASEAN spending a significant time in their car in traffic which, in turn, leads to increased air pollution and noise pollution. But electrified mobility can help tackle some of the issues and improve the quality of life of people.
